This is my first blog
So, I just finished my first legal internship at the New Roosevelt Initiative. I had a great experience and learned a lot about creating policy, and all that goes into a political campaign. I say I just finished, however I plan on continuing to work with them throughout the Fall and hopefully throughout my political carreer. This blog will be about politics and life in the Hudson Valley and beyond. I like music, sports, some television, and politics, and will talk about all of those subjects. If I try a fantastic wine or beer, and feel that I must pass that on, it will be included. I will also talk about my family. I have a wonderful wife named Natalie, and an equally wonderful daughter named Hannah, who is 16 months old. I will leave you this question to ponder until we meet again. Will the Tea Party deliver more for the Democrats or Republicans in the 2010 election cycle?

I try to be optimistic, so I feel that the Tea Party will not have completely self-destructed by then, and should be more of a detriment to the Republicans. They should strip away the far right, white votes from the conservatives. And given that the Republicans have now defined themselves as fundamentalist fringe nutjobs, I am also optimistic that Democrats will retain their majority. Despite the deafening scream of the right-wing media, I still believe there are enough independent thinking Americans out there who can see that the republican party emperors have no clothes (or leadership qualities!)
